During insight coaching sessions we explore how you are experiencing your life as it is right now. We identify your skillful and unskillful habitual thoughts and behaviors, and make sense of your emotions. Then together we co-create a plan to orient your life towards skillful thoughts and behaviors with the goal of cultivating radical attentional freedom.
We begin by cultivating a space of stillness and peace in your mind, a space where reactivity drops away, allowing for clarity, curiosity, kindness, and wonder, and a tolerance for unknowing and uncertainty.
Compulsive, habitual reactivity occurs when we don’t hold insightful attention to the experience of this moment. For most people, this is most of the time. Insight occurs with presence, and we can only be present if we have the capacity to hold our attention. Holding attention is a skill that can be cultivated.
Attentional freedom is the freedom to direct and hold your attention in any moment. When everything in and around us is demanding our attention, it is a radical act to claim the power of of our attention for ourselves.
The value in attentional freedom is that we can truly be present for ourselves and others, vastly improving our relationships. It means that we are present for our own lives in each moment, being how we choose to be, and doing what we choose to do. It means to have a capacity for calm, even in chaos. It means to have the capacity to be appropriately responsive, rather than compulsively reactive.
Coaching sessions are one hour and cost $60.00 (NZ dollars). Coaching is online via zoom. Contact Freida Maverick for more information.
